Art Night with Modigliani

Yes, Art Night has once again returned! This week, we did portraits in the style of Amedeo Modigliani based on an exercise in Carla Sonheim’s Drawing Lab for Mixed-Media Artists: 52 Creative Exercises to Make Drawing Fun. The instructions were to draw a portrait of one of your parents. Some of us follow instructions. Some of us do not.

Charlotte drew me.

I drew Mom.

Tim drew me. So far, so good.

But Eleanor drew Stephen. Hmm.

Then Amelia drew me and Stephen drew his dad.

And Margaret drew Jacob.

So, that makes seven instruction-followers and four taking-artistic-licensers? Not bad odds, I guess.

Oh, and one Bumpa who was chasing small grandchildren around. Yes, those are good odds.
